About the PhD Retreat 2026

An annual highlight ever since its inception in 2009, the PhD retreat has now become an integral part of the Biozentrum PhD program. Practicing presentation skills and scientific exchange are encouraged at the event, as all participants present their projects with a poster or talk.

The PhD representatives of the Bio- and Pharmazentrum are now jointly organizing the retreat and an increasing number of PhD students from both departments are joining each year.
The PhD retreat is a 2.5-day event filled with keynote lectures, PhD student talks, poster sessions and networking. Discussions about novel discoveries, cutting-edge techniques and methods are accompanied by social events fostering better collaboration and tighter-knit PhD community between these two big institutes with a plethora of research areas.
